Become the adult the Montessori environment needs
An AMI Diploma Course is more than an introduction to Montessori philosophy. It is an intensive preparation for understanding the child, mastering the Montessori materials and creating an environment in which children can develop independently.
You will learn to see
Understand the child's development and recognise what is happening beneath their actions.
You will learn to prepare
Create an environment where children can choose, concentrate, repeat and gradually become independent.
You will learn to present
Offer materials with precision and purpose, allowing the child to discover rather than simply receive.
You will learn to observe
Learn to read the child's activity and use observation to guide your pedagogical decisions.
You will learn to step back
Recognise when your most important contribution is to allow the child to work independently.

Your preparation shapes their experience.

Practical Life
Developing independence, coordination, concentration and a sense of order through purposeful activity.

Sensorial
Refining the senses and building the foundations for classification, comparison and abstraction.

Language
Supporting the child's development from spoken language to writing, reading and a growing command of language.

Mathematics
Following the child's natural movement from concrete experience towards abstraction, quantity, number and mathematical reasoning.

Culture
Opening the child to the natural and human world through geography, history, science, art and music.
